The Sapphire Spectre Issue 1: Special Edition

Who is The Sapphire Spectre? When she was 18 years old, Sylvia Sloane had an encounter with a powerful ghost/demon hybrid that killed her and her family. However, through an unknown force, she was resurrected and given a second shot at life. She soon discovered she can make her living body enter a "death stasis" at will and project her own ghost into the spiritual plane. Shaken but determined, Sylvia discovered she's comprised of energy far beyond that of the average spirit, and uses this power to right wrongs and dispatch of evil spirits, demons and other etherial undesirables. Now, in her early 20's, Sylvia has gained a reputation as a powerful force of vengeance in the ghostly dimension as The Sapphire Spectre. She will not stop fighting until the gap between the world of the living and the dead is closed for good. Who is this comic for? Anyone! It's got a bit of horror, a bit of humor, a bit of rock n roll and a little superheroine. If I were to give The Sapphire Spectre as a whole a "movie rating" for content, it would be a "harsh PG-13" or "light R" rating. Some swearing, some fantasy-violence and not overtly heavy on the sexy content, but it's there. It's reccomended for Jr. High and above.

Let's Talk Issue 2! (Launching June 23)

Thank you everyone who backed issue 1! It was such an amazing experience. I learned a whole lot about this whole Kickstarter thing (and the second one will come SO much faster now that I know what I'm doing!). It was a blast. 

I'm dying (and Sylvia is too, but what else is new?) for you to check out issue 2. It's a really fun story this time. A 2 1/2 foot anime chibi ghost shows up dressed like The Sapphire Spectre calling herself The Sapphire She-B. What is that all about?! Is she friend? Foe? Anti-hero? Chaotic neutral? Where's that chart? You know the one. It starts out a little wacky and madcap but settles into a bit of darkness as it goes. You're gonna love it. Here's a little taste of the video for the campaign:

I wrote that song and I sincelerly apologize to my neighbors for doing so. Can't wait to show you all the killer surprises in store in the form of covers, cosplay, rewards and more. Woo! Let's do this?!

PS- Who would like to see me homage Amazing Spider-Man 601 as an add-on cover down the line? I'm going back and forth on that one, but I might do it. Got any other homage suggestions?

OMG YOU GUYS! We are finally there! All of the orders have been boxed, things are lined up in alphabetical order and are just waiting for labels (which are printed and ready to be taped on).  This was such a crazy process and I appreciate all of you have been hanging on for the ride. You guys all rock! It was an amazing feeling to finally have everything packed! Packages will be going on March 5th, so please keep an eye out for an email containing your tracking information. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for all of the support. Oh, and Sapphire Spectre Issue #2 will be on it's way to Kickstarter soon! So stay tuned for the next update on Silva Sloane and her adventures.
